We have a beautiful herd of Boer goats that we raise for their delicious meat. Not only do they provide us with food but they also help us to regeneratively manage our grassland.
We use a method called mob grazing to keep them on small areas of grass and then move them regularly, this benefits them as they are given fresh grazing regularly, it benefits the land as it doesn't get over grazed or poached and it benefits the wildlife as it creates a mosaic of grassland habitat as they move through the fields.

We do not use routine medications for our goats, only treating them when necessary and as individuals rather than treating the whole herd.

Our goats are slow grown, only getting alfalfa pellets as a treat when being moved or when they are pregnant and feeding their young. The kids are left with their mums their whole life and wean themselves. Goats have strong family bonds and this helps to maintain those bonds, creating a well balanced, happy herd.
